MOTO Urban Pedal
The pedals are one of the three points of contact between rider and bicycle. The more efficient this interface, the better the rider’s ability to convert muscle power into propulsion. This is why clipless pedals are used in competitive cycling, but these are not practicable for everyday use. Conventional platform pedals generally fail to provide optimum power transmission, and urban cyclists know how painful it is when your expensive leather-soled shoes or high heels slide off the pedals and you hit your shin.
“Enough with the boring yellow reflectors from last millennium: stylish reflective tapes have taken their place in ensuring improved visibility. The Moto Reflex pedal has already made a breakthrough with the EuroBike Award 2014. The plastic housing is nice and light. A non-slip contact surface ensures optimal power transmission even without biker boots.”
"...The replaceable grip tape offers best "grip" without risk of injury -
and without ruining expensive leather shoes. Even ridable with high heels..."
For the second time in a row our pedals won over the the jury at EUROBIKE, the renowned bicycle trade fair in Friedrichshafen, Germany. This year it was the new MOTO Reflex Pedal that took the hearts by storm at the worlds leading competition in bicycle business and we were once again honoured with the Eurobike Award. This is the industry's acknowledgement for the steady advancement of our pedal systems and also one of the most important quality seals in the market.
Enter the night, reflecting the light of your city!
"The Pedals from Berlin label MOTO offer even during wet conditions a continuous grippy surface and a very effective power transmission. Also available with individual motives."
In the heart of Berlin, Germany, a city known for its colorful graffiti and artistic flare, lies Kreuzberg, a hub for artists, creatives, entrepreneurs, and “lifestyle gurus” like Alireza Barjesteh the founder of MOTO Bicycles. “[Alireza] embodied urban bike culture since before the term even existed and still embodies it today,” stated MOTO’s website of its founder. With years of cycling experience under his belt, Barjesteh collaborated with a diverse team of cyclists, designers, and engineers to bring a set of beautifully designed pedals that are made to meet the needs of every cycling “urbanista.”
With the MOTO Urban Pedals, MOTO Bicycles embarked on a mission to reinvent the bike pedal. They created a practical, everyday pedal that uses a simple design while also lightweight and sustainable. The Urban Pedals use a sandwich construction method, which allows the pedals to be uniquely lightweight while maintaining durability. In systematically reducing the number of components, the MOTO Urban Pedals are sleek, safe, and stylish.
With a flat surface design, The Urban Pedal can easily be used with a wide range of footwear from trainers to heels. The continuous surface is coated with a strong, waterproof grip tape that gives the pedals excellent traction. “We experimented with some shapes like a concave one, we decided for a flat one, because we really got better feedback with this shape.”
In true urbanista style, MOTO Bicycles offers a variety of grip tape patterns and colors that allow you to customize your MOTO Urban pedals.
